About Infrastruture

At Present the Library is functioning in a modern building .The site area of this library is 1,343,98 square meters. In that build up Ground floor area is 713.28 square meters and first floor area is 284.44 square meter, Gardon area 630.27 square meters. This Library has reference section, Periodicals section, Tamil section, English section, and Children section. The Pennington Committee is honoring the famous authors under the scheme. “Meet an author every month “ In its auditorium adjoining the Library. The Library is fully computerized to serve the public and also has photocopy facility. A beautiful garden has been established at the front and the medical herbs sections at the back.

The Library has 67728 volumes. Among them, 36293 are Tamil Books while 31435 are in English. The Library has 200 subscribed magazines and 14 news papers. It is having a collection rare and old document like penny cyclopedia; published in 1833, back volumes of madras year Book since 1923, and Tamilnadu Government Gazettes since 1950.

The library is having 26 reading Tables, 250 Plastic Chairs, 24 Steel folding cushion Chairs, 24 Wooden racks (Big size) 12 Wooden racks (Small size) 10 wall clocks,12. Wooden Aimirahs with glass (big) Woodern Aimirahs with glass (Medium) 3 Catalogue Cabinet box Steel , 1 Catalogue Cabinet box (Woodern) , 1 Teak wood counter 3 Notice boards , 2 Block boards, 40 Celling Fans 100 Tubelights, 1 water filter computer with internet connection from BSNL. One Woodern personal belonging counter is at the entrance. 14 Woodern armed chairs, 19 Teak wood black benches. Telephone with intercom facility is also available.
